The CLL Experimental Therapeutics lab has also been active in Pelotonia; a grassroots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. Pelotonia raises money for innovative and life saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Pelotonia is derived from the French word “peloton” in which a group of cyclists work as an integrated unit to maximize efforts and win the race. This philosophy extends beyond the bike tour and to the mission of CLL Experimental Therapeutics lab as well as the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital to end cancer. In 2010, members of our lab joined other James Cancer Hospital hematology professionals on the Hope Highway peloton. Team members cycled from Columbus to Athens, OH- over 100 miles in two days and help raise over $67,000 for Hope Highway for the 12th highest fund-raising peloton (out of 191 teams!). If you are interested in helping Hope Highway this year, please visit the team website.
